And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou consume the righteous with the wicked? - [Genesis 18:23]
In Genesis 18, God informs Abraham that he plans to destroy the city of Sodom because of its immorality. Verses 23 to 32 then depicts Abraham bargaining with the Lord over Sodom, which implicitly reveals God’s demand curve for punishment.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.” - Malachi 3:10
I used to go to church, before I joined the dark side and took up economics. The church I used to go to was hell-bent on collecting tithes from its members: not a service passed without the above-mentioned passage being hollered by the pastor who went on and on about how money was just a test from God designed to see if you were worthy of bigger and better rewards in heaven.
So now let us talk about money and our rewards in heaven - from an economist’s point of view.
