Green-tinted Glasses

Looking at the world through an economist’s eyes

FAQ

1. Why green-tinted glasses and not blue or red or yellow-tinted ones?

“Green-tinted glasses” was meant to be a play on “rose-tinted glasses”, which described people who saw things in an overly positive light, to the point of naivety. Economists, on the other hand, see everything in terms of dollars and cents, imputing values for even such things as love, life, and marriage.

This tendency to see things in monetary terms is the reason why I chose green (the colour of the greenback), and not red or purple or what-not.

And I think green-coloured glasses are cool too. That gives you a clue about the fashion sense of economists.
